The Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing is conducting a Member Protection Information Officer certificate course in Brisbane this month.
The free course consists of seven online modules and one face-to-face workshop.
It outlines the important role of a Member Protection Information Officer as the ‘go-to’ person in your club for players and members to discuss problems and formal complaints.
An MPIO is responsible for providing information about a person’s rights, responsibilities and options to an individual making a complaint or raising a concern an is an essential position in any community club.
Both sessions will be hosted by Morgan Lander, a specialist in risk management whose work focuses on pro-active education and training to prevent harm to sporting members.
