While Queensland’s Under 14 and Under 15 Girls sides compete at the National Youth Championships, three other Queenslanders are also making their mark at the tournament in Coffs Harbour.
Referees Jessica Borg, Jasmine Bremner and Daisie Kuypers (pictured, above), all from Brisbane, are part of a 21-strong group of match officials in charge of matches throughout the week.
Since the start of the competition on Monday, the three Queensland match officials have been appointed to three matches per day, one as a referee, one as an assistant referee and one as a fourth official.
Bremner and Kuypers are officiating in the Under 14s age group, while Borg is refereeing in the Under 15s competition.
“They’re having a ball and getting great feedback from the coaches on both their refereeing and assistant refereeing,” Football Queensland State Referee Coach Mark Simon-Green said.
“As well as the three matches each day, they’re also taking part in coaching sessions every night.
“The three Queensland referees are enjoying the different environment and are thriving on the expectations that come with refereeing in a tournament like this.”
