Newly-named Queensland women’s state futsal coach Justin Morrison has selected the squad that will contest the Gold Coast Futsal International Challenge in January 2019.
Selected from the South East Queensland Futsal Premier League (SEQFPL) open women’s competition, all five clubs are represented across the 12-player group.
The squad includes the competition’s top four players on the Golden Boot leader board, Louise Rolfe, Melissa Weckert, Sofie Persson and Taylah Brotherston, who have scored an incredible 60 goals between them so far this SEQFPL campaign.
“We’ve got a great balance in the team and players with different attributes, which will make for a strong squad,” Morrison said.
“We have players who can score goals and who are fast and mobile. I’m very happy with the team we have for the tournament in January.”
The Gold Coast Futsal International Challenge will be held on the Gold Coast from 17 January to 20 January 2019, featuring teams from across Australia and two international sides, New Zealand and the United States.
