Following the success of Football Queensland (FQ)’s regional road trip in 2018, FQ will soon embark on another state-wide ALDI MiniRoos Road Trip ahead of the 2019 outdoor football season.
The ALDI MiniRoos Road Trip will visit 17 regional communities across the state, beginning in Gympie on Friday, 15 February and travelling as far north as Port Douglas during the first part of the journey.
The second part of the ALDI MiniRoos Road Trip will commence in mid-March, visiting Dalby, Warwick and Goondiwindi.
Aimed at boys and girls aged between 5-11 years old, the road trip will support clubs with ALDI MiniRoos registrations as well as hosting coach education sessions for local coaches in each area.
“We want to involve both new and current ALDI MiniRoos to give everyone an opportunity to play football in a fun, safe and enthusiastic environment,” said FQ MiniRoos Development Officer Andy Allan, who will deliver the clinics with Women and Girls Participation Officer Kerry Hammersley.
“An important part of the ALDI MiniRoos Road Trip is supporting the development of coaches and mentoring them during our time in each community.”
Each ALDI MiniRoos clinic will run for three hours. The cost is $20 per child and includes a free ALDI MiniRoos football for the participant to take home.
