Football Queensland (FQ) has received notification from Mudgeeraba Soccer Club confirming the relinquishment of the club’s National Premier Leagues Women’s (NPLW) Queensland licence.
Mudgeeraba SC’s decision will allow the club to focus on local and youth development while supporting NPLW club Gold Coast United.
“I’d like to thank the players, coaches and support staff for their significant efforts in 2018,” Mudgeeraba SC President John White said.
“We will work closely with Gold Coast United and Gold Coast Football zone to ensure the best outcomes for women’s football here on the Gold Coast.”
As a result, Mudgeeraba SC will also relinquish their Skills Acquisition Phase (SAP) program licence, effective immediately.
In 2019, the NPLW competition will consist of 13 clubs. Fixtures against Mudgeeraba will now be byes for the opposition club.
