Logan Lightning will be out to strike this weekend, with a double header at Cornubia Park on Saturday from 5pm, hosting Eastern Suburbs in the National Premier League Women’s (NPLW) and Holland Park Hawks in the Football Queensland Premier League (FQPL).
Football also returns to Goodwin Park this weekend with two National Premier League (NPL) Queensland heavyweights, Olympic FC and Moreton Bay United facing off this Sunday from 6pm in the NPL Match of the Round.
Each Match of the Round fixture can be viewed live and on demand through the FQ website, FQ Facebook page and FQ YouTube channel.
NPL QUEENSLAND
Having shown signs of life this season, Moreton Bay United face an almighty test in travelling to Olympic FC in Round 9 of the NPL Queensland, with Olympic’s sole loss coming at the hands of the undefeated Peninsula Power.
Sporting a new look front line, Olympic FC is relishing the attacking prowess of former Bentleigh Green Chris Lucas, who currently leads the NPL in goal scoring, with nine goals from six appearances.
His combination with 2018 Golden Boot recipient Youeil Shol will seek to turn the heads of Moreton Bay defenders as they hunt for their sixth win from seven appearances.
Moreton Bay United will look to cause an upset and get their season back on the front foot, following a disappointing home loss at the hands of Gold Coast Knights last weekend.
The two sides last met in Round 17 of the 2018 season, where they were unable to be separated, recording a 0-0 draw.

NPLW QUEENSLAND
Marking the first 2019 meeting between the two sides, Logan Lightning face Eastern Suburbs in the first match of a double header at Cornubia Park this Saturday.
Fresh off a 5-2 victory over Sunshine Coast Wanderers last weekend, marking their first of the season, Eastern Suburbs will look to continue this momentum against Logan.
Logan Lightning will aim to replicate their form from the second half of their game against Lions FC, overcoming a 2-0 deficit to grab a share of the points from one of the in-form sides of the competition.
Look for Alana Giggins to continue her sweet long-range striking, just like the equaliser below.

The second game of the Saturday night double-header at Cornubia Park sees Logan Lightning up against the Holland Park Hawks in Round 5 of the FQPL.
Logan Lightning will look to continue their trend of clipping the Hawks’ wings, running away 5-1 victors in their last encounter in Round 18, 2018.
A side searching for momentum on the back of a 4-0 home defeat at the hands of Wolves FC, Holland Park Hawks will need to replicate the magic of their Round 2 victory over Ipswich Knights to turn their fortunes around this weekend.
