The FQ Quad Series kicked off over the weekend in Mackay, with Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) and Talent Support Program (TSP) teams competing on Saturday, 30 March and Sunday, 31 March across two venues.
FQ Quad Series supports the pathway to state team selection, providing opportunities for young players from areas north of the Wide Bay-Burnett region.
Despite some heavy rain across the state, teams travelled from Far North Queensland (FNQ), North Queensland (NQ) and Central Queensland (CQ) to participate in the event alongside Magpies Crusaders FC teams.
The FQ Quad Series provided an opportunity for both players and coaches from regional Queensland to come up against their peers from other parts of the state.
Boys and girls aged between eight and 16 participated in the first of the FQ Quad Series events, held at Magpies Sporting Club and Mackay Junior Football Club.
TSP teams and coaches also attended a HUDL and Smartabase presentation over the weekend to learn about video review tools and how they can be used to help analyse and improve player performance.
Also acting as a talent pathway for emerging referees from regional Queensland, the FQ Quad Series showcased not only players but also young match officials from across the state.
FQ Quad Series events will also be held in Cairns, Townsville and Brisbane later this year.
