Football Queensland (FQ) would like to extend our condolences to the family and loved ones of life member Donald Look, who sadly passed away last Friday.
A life member of FQ since 2002, Look was a well-known member of the Queensland football community and a Board Member of the Queensland Soccer Federation, and he served many years on the Appeal Committee.
Look held life membership of Annerley Stars Soccer Club and Brisbane Southern Districts Junior Soccer Association (BSDJSA) where he was a member of the inaugural committee in 1977 and later became President until 1988.
Throughout his time with BSDJSA, Look also held positions including Junior Vice President of the Queensland Junior Soccer Council, and acted as the founding Secretary of the South Queensland Women’s Soccer Association.
His contribution to football in Queensland included involvement as a Director in the formative years of Brisbane United (now Brisbane Strikers) when they were part of the National Soccer League.
Look developed a Laws and Order Code for Brisbane Men’s Soccer and offered his services on the body’s Disciplinary Committee along with two other football stalwarts, Elaine Watson and Eric Sinclair.
Look’s family describe his passion for football and its administration as his greatest hobby, rather than a job.
He was a tireless worker for football, and Football Queensland would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge his years of service to the game in the state.
