Eastern Suburbs will look to deliver their second upset in as many weeks in Round 16 of the National Premier Leagues (NPL) Women’s, while Capalaba FC will host Logan Lightning in the NPLW Match of the Round.
The NPLW Match of the Round can be viewed live and on demand on the FQ Website, FQ Facebook and FQ YouTube channel.
Eight points currently separate the teams with Capalaba sitting in third place on 31 points, while Logan Lightning are in the sixth spot on 23 points.
Souths United are hot on the Bulldogs’ tail sitting in fourth on 30 points so if Capalaba lose to Logan, there’s a chance that they will drop a spot.
Capalaba have the odds on their side though; they’re currently on a three game winning streak and have demonstrated their goal-scoring talent by scoring 15 goals in their last three games.
Logan Lighting are in a similar situation with Gold Coast United sitting below them in seventh place on 22 points. If Logan fall to Capalaba, they could lose their secured spot come finals time.
Logan have won their last two games including a dominant 9-3 win over SWQ Thunder in Round 13 and a crucial 2-1 win against The Gap.
The last time Capalaba and Logan met was in Round 3 this year, when the two teams drew 2-2 after Katy Couperus equalised with a goal in the dying stages of the game.
