A number of funding and award nomination opportunities have become available for Queensland women interested in sport within the Logan area.
Game on for Women is a Logan City Council initiative with the aim of supporting participation levels of women in sport by providing funding and award nomination opportunities.
Upcoming opportunities include a leadership and communications skills workshop, and three Women in Sport Bursaries worth a value of $5,000.
The Women Leaders in Sport (WLIS) program is also heavily advocated by the Logan City Council in their effort to promote opportunities for female leaders in Australian sport.
The WLIS program is an Australian Government initiative of Sport Australia. In addition to women in the Logan area, sports clubs are also encouraged to apply for the program.

Game on for Women Leadership Masterclass
The leadership and communications workshop is recommended for athletes, coaches, officials, club volunteers and committee members with an interest in fulfilling their leadership and communications potential.
Registrations are now open, with the workshop taking place between 9:30am and 3:30pm Friday, 25 October 2019. There is a limit of 20 spots available with applications closing Monday, 30 September 2019.
Game on for Women Bursaries
Three Women in Sport Bursaries worth a value of $5,000 are available, as Game on for Women look to support women interested in pursuing a career in sports.
Applications for the Women in Sport Bursaries are open from Tuesday, 1 October 2019 until Friday, 6 December 2019. Women interested in studying a sports major at university are encouraged to apply.
Women Leaders in Sport Program
The WLIS program is an Australian Government initiative, managed by Sport Australia in partnership with the Office for Women.
The program has so far provided development opportunities to over 24,000 women in sport, helping them reach their leadership potential within the sport industry.
The program will continue to provide opportunities in 2020 through leadership workshops for individuals and organisations, and development grants for individuals and organisations.
