The First Group Stage of Football Queensland (FQ)’s E-Series competition drew to a close on Sunday for the Xbox Seniors, as participants in the other competitions enter their final week of First Group Stage matches.
The Second Group Stage will kick off next weekend after the Xbox Juniors, PS4 Juniors and PS4 Seniors complete the First Group Stage this week.
More information on dates and pool allocations for the Second Group Stage will be announced shortly.
Xbox Seniors competitors sealed their fate over the weekend as they completed their final matches to confirm which participants will progress to the Second Group Stage of the tournament.
The top six players from each pool in all competitions will progress to the Second Group Stage of the FQ E-Series tournament, with the exception of the regional pools in the Xbox Seniors competition.
Rather than top six, the top five players of each regional pool in the Xbox Seniors competition will qualify for the Second Group Stage.
Next Round Deadlines
Xbox Juniors participants must play all remaining rounds (Rounds 14 to 17) by this Sunday, 17 May. Please note not all pools will play 17 rounds in the First Group Stage, so some participants will play less than four matches in the final playing window currently open until this Sunday.
PS4 Juniors and PS4 Seniors meanwhile must play their Round 12 matches before tomorrow, Wednesday 13 May, and their Round 13 matches by this Sunday, 17 May.
Removal of players from the FQ E-Series
A number of players across all four competitions have been removed from the FQ E-Series after failing to complete three consecutive matches or attempt to contact their opponent on three occasions.
This means that all players will now record a bye for upcoming fixtures when facing an opponent who has been removed from the competition. For this reason, all matches previously recorded as a 3-0 win due to a forfeit of a player who has been removed will now show as a bye instead to ensure consistency across the rounds. SportsTG has been updated accordingly.
