Just one win stands in the way of our remaining Football Queensland (FQ) E-Series competitors and a Grand Final appearance with the Semi Finals now underway.
Some shock losses in the Quarter Finals saw two of the strongest players knocked out of the competition, while close battles and big scorelines were recorded as players booked a spot in the Semi Finals.
The deadline for the FQ E-Series Semi Final matches is 12pm tomorrow, Saturday 11 July.
Players who qualify for the Grand Finals will be contacted on Saturday afternoon with more information on Sunday’s Grand Final matches.
The Grand Final for all competitions will take place this weekend on Sunday, 12 July hosted at DoubleTake Studios in Brisbane.
All Grand Final matches will be live streamed on FQ’s social media channels including a video feed of the participating player.
Players located outside of South East Queensland will be sent instructions on playing remotely on the day.
PS4 JUNIORS
Gladstone-based competitor MillzyJr7 representing Boyne Tannum FC and Musgrave Mustang’s henryeve (Gold Coast) join two Brisbane-based players in the Semi Finals of the PS4 Juniors competition.
FrtzrAu from Lions FC and Holland Park Hawks representative PanaC_Gaming03 both scored five or more goals in their Quarter Final matches to book their spot in the Semi Finals.
They will now go head to head in an all-Brisbane battle for Grand Final qualification, while MillzyJr7 will face henryeve in their Semi Final clash.
XBOX JUNIORS
Burdekin Panthers’ R3flex au joins three players from Brisbane and Logan in the Semi Finals of the Xbox Juniors competition.
The Ayr-based competitor defeated his Quarter Finals opponent from Nerang FC, and will come up against JohnGero3660 in the Semi Finals.
In the other Grand Final qualification battle, Pine Hills FC’s TheRyno99 takes on Logan Lightning’s J3ZZA7.
PS4 SENIORS
All PS4 Seniors Quarter Final matches were closely fought encounters, so the Semi Final clashes are set to be thrilling ones. Two of the competition’s best recorded shock defeats and were sent packing ahead of the Semi Finals.
After beating Brisbane Roar E-League player aussiefifahd in the Round of 16, South West’s mezzydsxc will come up against Capalaba FC’s YTG_Dtpc1074 in a Semi Final clash as both players fight for a spot in the PS4 Seniors Grand Final. The latter recorded a 3-2 win last round in a surprising victory over EnvyAU_, an Australian Pro Clubs player, so this clash is set to be a fascinating one.
In the other Semi Final match of the PS4 Seniors, nan0_br0_11 from Grange Thistle will face Park Ridge Panthers’ aidenkorner.
XBOX SENIORS
South East Queensland representatives are the only ones remaining in the Xbox Seniors competition after four high-scoring Quarter Finals. All players who recorded wins in the Quarter Finals scored at least four goals last round, while the biggest win of the round saw eight goals scored by TommyTerrific from Mitchelton FC.
He’ll take on Southport SC’s NikeNotFila5551 in the Semi Finals in what will be a mouthwatering clash. TommyTerrific will no doubt have some competition from his opponent who scored seven goals in his Quarter Final victory.
Another Southport SC representative will also feature in the Xbox Seniors Semi Finals, taking on Brisbane-based l2gfcl for a spot in the Grand Final.
