Football Queensland (FQ)’s strategic emphasis on referee registration and development will be in full focus during a dedicated day-long referee course blitz at Meakin Park in October.
Young and experienced match officials alike are encouraged to register for either a Level 4 Referee Course, a Level 3 Referee Course, a Level 3 Assessors Course or a Level 2 Referee Course.
All four will be held on Monday, 5 October, the Queen’s Birthday public holiday.
“The referee course blitz is a great opportunity for senior and emerging referees to learn and develop in the same welcoming environment,” FQ State Referee Manager Jacqui Hurford said.
“Football Queensland is continually looking at how we can create opportunities to bring new referees on board and support their development.
“This unique idea enables us to do that in a single day while offering both introductory courses, like the Level 4 for beginners, and more advanced courses, such as the Level 2.
“We deliberately identified the Queen’s Birthday public holiday to maximise attendance numbers and look forward to welcoming everyone to Meakin Park.”
Registration is now open for all four courses via the referee courses page on the FQ website.
The referee course blitz supports FQ’s raft of recent referee development initiatives, including the launch of an e-learning platform on fqreferees.com.au and the establishment of the inaugural Football Queensland Referee Academy.
