Blue Card Services will host a series of free online events next month to help Queenslanders understand the changes to the blue card system.
The online events will be ideal for organisations operating child related services or employing people to work with children, and people who manage blue card holders within organisations.
Across four weeks, the four key parts of the blue card system will be discussed in further detail.
You can attend all sessions or just the ones you want to learn more about, with opportunities for questions and discussions at each session.
TOPICS
Week 1: Who needs a blue card, the categories of regulated employment and businesses, and how to apply for a blue or exemption card.
Week 2: The application and screening process, including what happens when an applicant has police information returned as part of the blue card check.
Week 3: Linking requirements and the importance of linking a card holder to an organisation, and the daily monitoring of applicants and card holders by the Queensland Police Service.
Week 4: We discuss organisations’ obligations to develop and implement child and youth risk management strategies, which contribute to the creation of safe environments for children.
