The final SAP event of 2020 was held at Meakin Park over the weekend as young footballers from around Queensland came together for the Under 11 SAP Boys State Carnival.
The event held on Saturday, 7 November and Sunday, 8 November welcomed teams from South West and South East Queensland, North and Far North Queensland, Central Queensland, Mackay and Wide Bay.
“The Under 11 SAP Boys State Carnival was a great end to Football Queensland’s 2020 SAP event calendar,” State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer said.
“It was fantastic to see the talent on show from around the state, with young footballers from each of the five regional SAP centres travelling to join their South West and South East Queensland counterparts for the weekend’s event.
“Congratulations to all players, coaches, referees and families involved in the Under 11 SAP Boys State Carnival, and thank you all for joining us here at Meakin Park for the weekend.
“Football Queensland was delighted to be able to proceed with a number of SAP State Carnivals this year following the resumption of football, and we thank all members of our football community for their cooperation and support in making these events a success.
“To be able to provide the opportunity for hundreds of talented young footballers from across Queensland to participate in these state events has been a highlight of 2020, and we look forward to seeing each of these players back out on the field again next year.”
To ensure the safety of those in attendance, a number of COVID Safe measures have been in place across all SAP State Carnivals, including temperature checks on arrival, QR code attendance tracking measures, regular cleaning of facilities and equipment and social distancing requirements.
