Football Queensland (FQ) has today confirmed that football activity in the Greater Brisbane region can recommence from tomorrow, Tuesday, 12 January 2021.
The temporary suspension that FQ announced on Friday remains in place until midnight tonight.
This is to avoid all confusion and to ensure the football community is in full compliance with State Government guidelines, as the mandated lockdown ends at a time (6:00pm) when activities would typically be occurring.
Upon recommencing football-related activities, all clubs and sanctioned event hosts must maintain compliance with the existing COVID Safe Industry Plan for Field Sports and FQ’s Return to Play Guidelines.
All football community members in the Greater Brisbane region are reminded of their obligation to carry a face mask at all times when outside of the home. Individuals must also wear a face mask in indoor spaces, such as clubhouses.
For reference, the Greater Brisbane region is defined as spanning the Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan local government areas.
