Queensland coaches will have the opportunity to attend Advanced Licence coaching courses as Football Queensland (FQ) continues to invest in high-level coach education across the state.
“FQ is proud to be leading the way in delivering high quality education for our advanced coaches,” said FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci.
“C Licence courses will be held in Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, while Gold Coast is hosting a B Licence course.
“This will provide coaches from across the state the opportunity to take part in these courses, reflecting our Strategic Plan vision to unite football in Queensland.
“It is terrific to see that FQ will deliver Australia’s first ever Female Only B Licence course here at Meakin Park in April, after the course was postponed due to the January Greater Brisbane lockdown.
“This is another example of FQ’s determination to increase the number of women and girls in our game by developing pathways and opportunities for women to become coaches as well as players and referees.
“In 2020, coach education reforms and strategies implemented by FQ saw a net increase of nearly 500 additional coaches, which represents more than an 8% increase.”
FQ State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer said FQ was committed to building on that positive momentum.
“FQ delivered 203 courses for 2753 coaches in 2020, and we look forward to educating more coaches in 2021,” said Ganczer.
“Investing in coach education will ensure that participants around the state have access to qualified coaches, which will improve their experiences at training sessions and on game day.
“This year, FQ will be delivering six C Licence courses in regional areas and five C Licence courses in Brisbane, as well as three B Licence courses.
“FQ now has more resources to support these coaches and we are looking forward to helping them and their clubs grow.”
The courses begin on Monday 12 April with Part 1 of the C Licence course at Murray Park in Townsville, and the Female Only B Licence course at Meakin Park, Brisbane.
FQ also plans to host B Licence and A Licence courses in Meakin Park, with final details to be confirmed shortly.
