One week of competition down for the FQPL 3 South Coast Men’s competition however two teams are yet to play this season as well as the disruption to the FQPL 3 Women’s competition. Here is a preview of what we can expect this weekened.
FQPL 3 South Coast Men’s
Friday night sees an important clash between Kingscliff and Palm Beach across the border. Fresh off their win against Southport the Wolves will know a win against Palm Beach who tasted defeat last week would blow the league wide open. Southport will be looking to bounce back after their first game when they host Tallebudgera Valley who have yet to play a game.
A big 2-0 win against Palm Beach sees Robina take on Burleigh for a chance to make it two wins from two to start the year. The Bulldogs will be hoping that the week off hasn’t impacted their momentum and will be looking to get their season off with a win. Musgrave will feel confident of getting back to back wins when they host Nerang. The Eagles struggled last week in a 7-0 loss and will be hoping to find something in the tank against the Mustangs.
Sunday afternoon sees league leaders Broadbeach head to Runaway Bay in a tricky fixture. Many sides struggled to get the job done at Bay last year and the Dolphins will be wary of the threat they pose.
FQPL 3 South Coast Women’s
After wet weather cost us an opening round of FQPL 3 South Coast Women’s matches, the three games this week sees Broadbeach hosting Magic at Nikiforides with both sides eager to start the year with a win.
A new look Mudgeeraba make their way south of the border to take on Kingscliff at Walter Peate Reserve with three points potentially going a long way into both sides aspirations for the 2022 season.
The final fixture sees Palm Beach taking on Robina at Robina in the late kick off hoping to continue on the form they showed at the back end of last season and pick up a victory to kick start their campaign.
Defending champions Musgrave have a bye in this week’s action.
