Mackay Football Park will play host to the FQ Academy Regional Carnival this weekend, welcoming Under 9 to Under 12 players from five regions.
The carnival will be held across two days on Saturday, 30 April and Sunday, 1 May and will feature teams from the Far North & Gulf, Northern, Whitsunday Coast, Central Coast and Wide Bay regions.
Under 9, Under 10, Under 11 and Under 12 Boys teams and Under 9/10 and Under 11/12 Girls sides will take on their peers from across regional Queensland in one of the biggest FQ Academy Regional Carnivals to be held so far this year.
“This weekend’s carnival is an opportunity for players to be matched against other regional footballers on a larger scale than local tournaments,” FQ Senior Manager – Club Development, Talent & Coaching (Northern) Michael Edwards said.
“Participation in these events allows players to express the four core skills and learn to connect with teammates to protect and possess the ball.
“We encourage all players to play without fear, to play with determination and to play showing support for your team. Importantly, enjoy the games and the event.
“Football Queensland wishes everyone an enjoyable weekend in Mackay, and best of luck to all participants.”
