With no Darling Downs FQPL 3 football happening last weekend due to wet weather, some clubs would have welcomed the break to recover from niggles and injuries whilst others would’ve preferred to keep their momentum going. Here is this week’s Round Preview;
FQPL 3 Women
Wanderers will have a renewed hit of confidence taking on the league leaders Highfields Gold this Saturday at home. Whilst they are still searching for their second win of the season. Their attack is finding its groove and the goals are starting to flow.
The last time Willowburn met Hawks, it ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw. Both teams have attack strike power and this one may simply come down to which team can defend for the full 90mins.
Rockville Rovers have made their way back into the four and will be eager to remain there. USQFC have slipped down to the fifth and this game provides a great opportunity to demonstrate their top four credentials.
Rockville Rubies host HF Green this Sunday at Captain Cook. Whilst Rubies will go into this one as favourites. HF Green will consider themselves a strong chance after a good all around performance against USQFC in their last outing.
FQPL 3 Men
Gatton are always hard to beat at home, they are even harder on a Saturday night with a vocal home crowd. This is what awaits the high flying Saints this weekend. Gatton will be keen to bring a halt to Saints string of wins, and make their way back into the top four.
Willowburn host Highfields on Saturday night. And the last time these two teams met, Highfields nearly pulled off an upset, but had to settle for a 2-2 draw. That will give them a huge sense of confidence heading into this clash as they look to be the first team to inflict defeat on the magpies.
Rockville host West Wanderers at Captain Cook on Sunday afternoon and in their previous matches, both teams have provided entertaining football. This should be no exception as both squads are fairly well matched across the park.
