In response to a News Corp article published earlier this week, Football Queensland has today reaffirmed that all clubs participating in the NPL Queensland (and other advanced leagues) must comply with the licence criteria as directed by the licence agreement.
Football Queensland refutes the validity of the recent article, to which FQ made no comment, and which incorrectly implies that FQ has been in contact with Brisbane Roar FC to confirm the club’s ongoing participation in the NPL Queensland competition.
No club is exempt from licence requirements or will be given special dispensation, including Brisbane Roar FC. All participating and licenced clubs are required to strictly comply with the terms of FQ’s finance policies.
Every advanced club is yet to be considered for a new licence following the conclusion of the current licence period at the end of 2022, and all must comply with the licence process which will shortly commence for 2023.
