FQPL 3 Darling Downs Women

Rockville Rovers overcame a determined Hawks outfit last week to come out with a narrow 3-2 victory, and they will look to continue their momentum and form right up into the finals series. Highfields Green toiled hard against USQFC and came away with a well deserved point. Rovers at home should have the edge, but you cannot discount Green who are playing well in patches but will need to be consistent for the full 90mins if they are to get anything out of this one on Sunday.

Prediction: 3-0 Rovers

Hawks sit comfortably inside the top four (6 points clear) despite their loss last week, whilst unlikely it is still a mathematical possibility for them to miss out, so a win versus Rockville Rubies is crucial to seal their October aspirations. Meanwhile, Rubies will be looking to bounce back from a draw with Wanderers last week. Hawks should have the personnel to get the job done, but if Rubies manage an early goal it could be enough to disrupt the Hawks approach.

Prediction: 3-1 Hawks

USQFC have it all to play for this weekend, a win sees them keep their finals hopes alive, a loss could be the knockout punch. Highfields Gold will no doubt be disappointed with how last week’s match played out and will be keen to keep the pressure on Willowburn with another win and 3 points. USQFC have demonstrated in previous rounds that they can compete with the top four and they will need to muster all they have and play at their best to take something away from this match.

Prediction: 4-2 Highfields Gold

Now sitting four points clear, Willowburn will now know they are the hunted and every team will be wanting to take their scalp.  They host a Wanderers team who have shown vast signs of improvement over the last four weeks. With the some new signings their (WW) attack has some teeth and in their last outing against the magpies the scores were locked at 2-2 at half time. If they can stay with the magpies for both halves we could witness one of the upsets of the season.
