Football Queensland has confirmed that governing body fees will remain unchanged in 2023 as the implementation of Future of Football 2020+ reforms continue to reap significant benefits for participants in every region.
The announcement follows last year’s reduction of registration fees for the 2022 season as Football Queensland transformed and streamlined service delivery across the state.
“The Football Queensland Board of Directors is delighted to make this commitment to our participants to deliver no changes to governing body fees for the 2023 season in spite of the challenging and volatile inflationary environment that our organisation and all Queenslanders are currently operating in,” FQ President Ben Richardson said.
“Affordability is one of the four key areas identified as a priority throughout the reform process and Football Queensland’s focus has been to continue to put downward pressure on costs. We’ve lowered the cost of football over the last 12 months thanks to a transition towards more streamlined and robust processes and policies and reduced duplication in administration.
“The ongoing benefits of the Future of Football 2020+ reforms have enabled Football Queensland to deliver this fantastic outcome for our participants and clubs in every part of the state for 2023.”
“With the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ coming to our shores, 2023 is set to be a huge year for our game here in Queensland which makes today’s announcement of no changes to governing body fees even more significant,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“Football Queensland has recorded strong year-on-year growth in participation, particularly in women and girls, and is pleased to support the ongoing growth of the game by making football more accessible for all Queenslanders amidst increasing cost of living pressures.
“Following the successful implementation of administrative, governance and competition reforms this year, we’re looking forward to another strong year for football as we welcome more participants to our game across the state in 2023.”
