To be held at Nissan Arena in Brisbane this Wednesday, 19 June and Thursday, 20 June 2024, the FQ School Futsal State Championships is a school-based futsal competition that will bring together the best junior futsal Queensland School Sport (QSS) teams from across 10 QSS regions in South East Queensland.
“Football Queensland is excited to work with Queensland School Futsal to deliver this competition which is set to be a fantastic opportunity for our young talent to represent their school and showcase their skills in a highly competitive environment,” FQ Manager – Futsal Vince Sciacca said.
“This year we have 80 teams participating in over 157 games across our Under 13s, Under 15s and Open Boys and Girls age groups, with the winner and runners-up of each age group pool progressing to the knockout stage to compete for the FQ School Futsal State Championship title as well as the Shield Final for our Junior and Open Girls.
“Football Queensland is also looking forward to hosting the FQ School Futsal Northern State Championships at the Townsville Sports Precinct on Wednesday, 14 and Thursday, 15 August 2024, demonstrating our commitment to strengthening regional accessibility and pathways by delivering opportunities for players from the Central and Northern conferences to compete within their region.
“The top four teams from the U13, U15 and Open Boys and Girls from both the State Championships and Northern State Championships will qualify for the National School Championships set to be played on Monday, 18 November to Wednesday, 20 November 2024 at Nissan Arena in Brisbane.
“Both of these tournaments demonstrate Football Queensland’s strategic objective to grow the game and nurture talent through the integration of futsal in schools across the state and provide clear pathways for more aspiring players to engage with the game no matter their location.
