“I am passionate about women and girls soccer since hearing some of the everyday sexism at a club many years ago when my daughter started playing. I was determined to change things for her and now, although the future is in safer hands, I am inspired by the young women and girls at our club. I still want to see more equality across the sport and thankfully at the Bulldogs, I am surrounded by amazing people wanting to do the same. Together, and with fabulous support from other ambassadors across the state, we will make a difference to all the young female players in the area. “Why am I an Ambassador?

“I’ve been involved with football since I was six, and I’ve had so many wonderful formative experiences from that, it’s been really important for me to be able to give back and help others create their own positive associations with the game.
It’s really important for me to continue the great work we’ve done at Toowong FC to promote and support the game for female participants alongside the terrific team of dedicated volunteers, players and leaders within the club, creating a welcoming environment both on and off the field. ”

In that time, I have been heavily involved in promoting all female carnivals, developing and supporting representative pathways for players at a regional level and establishing various playing and development options for girls and women at a club level.
I believe our Darling Downs region needs to take a united approach across all of our clubs to do more to provide appropriate development opportunities and pathways for our female footballers in order to attract and retain them in our game.
I am looking forward to seeing what we can collectively achieve with this Women and Girls’ Ambassadors initiative in the years ahead.”

“Sport being an integral part of my life, with my participation in soccer/football commencing more than 25 years ago and continuing today. To be a Womens and Girls Ambassador provides an opportunity to give back to a sport that has been personally fulfilling and hopefully inspires others including my children to continue playing the world game. I am grateful to be part of a club with one of the largest female playing members on the Gold Coast and in Queensland. It is a privilege to be part of a movement enhancing participation, development, diversity and empowerment of females in the sport. It is refreshing to see many sports in Australia showcasing the female talent across a variety of sports and sporting codes. Having the World Cup in Australia in 2023 is a once in a lifetime opportunity that provides the foundations to inspire generations to come and celebrate such an inclusive sport. A saying in our household is “Keep Reaching for the Stars” “ Why am I an Ambassador?

“I’m a huge advocate for ladies football and want to see our girls at Coolum given the opportunity to follow their dreams and become a future Matilda’s player. I have returned to community football after several years of NPL coaching to give children that can’t afford NPL football an opportunity to develop and improve their skill set. “ Why am I an Ambassador?

“After 30+ years of playing the game, it’s time to give back. I want to help football move forward to a place where young girls don’t face the inequalities that the women before them have. I want to be a part of growing a healthy football community that is inclusive and invested in everyone who plays the beautiful game.”

“I am passionate about being a role model and I want to see our girls at Northern Beaches be given the opportunity to follow their dreams. I believe women and girls need a voice to be able to encourage more to join soccer, as well as having a familiar face for girls and women to come to with questions. I wish to create a safe space for them to feel like they belong.” “Why am I an Ambassador?
