Football Queensland is excited to launch Girls United Social 6-a-side, a new family-friendly football program for women and girls in Cairns.
Girls United is all about creating fun, social football environments for women and girls to boost their confidence, build fitness and make friends.
Women and girls of all ability and experience levels are encouraged to participate in the social 6-a-side and is a great option for those who haven’t got the time to commit to the traditional training and game format of club football, or for those who want to build their skills and confidence before moving into a club football team.
The nine-week social competition will take place at Endeavour Park on Tuesday nights from 4 October to 29 November, with games and activities starting at 6:30pm.
This event is a first for the region and will allow women and girls to play football in a relaxed, social atmosphere. Both experienced players as well as women and girls who have never kicked a ball before are encouraged to get involved, so turn up as an individual or in a group and join the fun.

Program Details
Venue: Endeavour Park, Manunda
Dates: 4 October to 29 November
Day: Tuesday nights for 9 weeks
Times: 6:30pm to 7:30pm
Cost: $99 per player (includes referee fee)
Age Groups: U9 to Senior Women (age groups in juniors will be dule band if required)
Session Duration: 20 minute warm up focusing on fun and basic skills, followed by a game with 20-minute halves (5 minute half-time)
