Football Queensland is excited to launch an FQ Academy Development Centre on the Sunshine Coast providing further opportunities for players to receive high-quality coaching.
With the launch of the centre at Maroochydore Football Complex, FQ will deliver additional high-quality training sessions to complement club-based training for players born in 2009 – 2014 who are part of FQ clubs and competitions.
The implementation of this new centre allows more Sunshine Coast players to join the FQ talent pool and provides junior and youth footballers outside of our FQ Academy advanced licenced clubs with access to high quality football experiences that enhance skill and game development.
Training sessions are centred around the four core skills of first touch, striking the ball, running with the ball, and 1v1. As the focus of training sessions is on the core skills, no position-specific training is embedded into the Program. Age specific sessions will be facilitated to align training principles with the current stage of development players are in.
