Football is Queensland’s most popular team sport. Our clubs are the glue for many communities around the state.
Children between the ages of 4 to 11 are introduced to football via MiniRoos, an introductory program that allows boys to learn football on smaller fields with modified rules and less players.
By the age of 12, boys and girls move into junior divisional football. Players can join a team at their local club. As they progress through the age groups, they will play on larger fields to prepare them for the transition to senior football.
MiniRoos is an Australia-wide program which uses short, game-based sessions to help kids of all abilities learn new skills, get active and make life-long friends. Core values of teamwork, cooperation, fair play and respect for others are at the heart of all MiniRoos programs.
For those new to football, MiniRoos Kick-Off is held across three playing windows: pre-season (January to March), winter season (April to August), and post-season (October to December).
For children aged 5 to 11, MiniRoos Club Football provides opportunities for boys and girls of all abilities to play small-sided games in a club-based environment.
