Gold Coast Futsal and Sunshine Coast Wave have shared the spoils at the annual Futsal State Titles with both claiming three championships across an action-packed two days in Brisbane.
The two clubs stamped their supremacy with seven Grand Final appearances each from 10 divisions.
The pair went head-to-head in four Grand Finals but couldn’t be split as Gold Coast claimed wins in the 11 Boys and 14 Boys age groups, while Sunshine Coast hit back in the 12 Boys and 13 Boys.
Gold Coast also claimed silverware in the 13 Girls while Sunshine Coast added a Youth Men’s title to their honours, narrowly beating Bundaberg Wildcats 2-1.
Moreton Bay, South West Queensland, Redland City and South Brisbane all also claimed memorable triumphs.
In an illustration of the tournament’s competitiveness, five of the Grand Finals were decided by only a single goal following a keenly-contested round robin stage.
