Football Queensland’s new premier futsal competition for secondary schools, the FQ School Futsal Championships launched this year across the state, delivering a high-quality, school-based futsal competition to support the development of futsal programs within Queensland schools.
The FQ School Futsal Championships runs across two stages, with boys and girls in years 7-12 competing within their own QSS region to be crowned Regional Champions. The winners, runners up and some semi-finalists from each QSS region qualify for the FQ School Futsal Championships State Titles, where they will compete against other qualifying schools and vie for the title of State Champions.
The inaugural FQ School Futsal Championships State Titles will be held on 21 June and 22 June at Nissan Arena in Brisbane, where 58 of the best school teams have been split into pools within four competition categories of Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Senior Boys and Senior Girls, with the pool winners progressing into the knockout phase of the tournament.
Schools participating in the FQ School Futsal Championships State Titles will also have the opportunity of qualifying to represent Queensland at the proposed School Futsal National Championships in late 2023.
