WEEK 1
Lions FC got their 2019 SEQ FPL campaign off to a brilliant start, putting 11 goals past Ipswich Futsal to record an 11-2 win against Ipswich Futsal.
Galaxy FC recorded a win in their first SEQ FPL match for 2019, coming out on top of a close encounter against EliteFoot to secure a 4-3 victory.
In their Round 2 clash, Lions FC and Sunshine Coast Wave were held to a 3-3 draw.
EliteFoot recorded their first win in the Men’s SEQ FPL competition in an 8-3 victory over Ipswich Futsal.
WEEK 2
A 33rd minute Hugo Labaredas goal proved only consolation for EliteFoot as they went down to Lions FC in a 2-1 defeat.
Despite a second half hat-trick to EliteFoot’s Hugo Labaredas, Sunshine Coast Wave doubled their half time goal tally to run away 6-4 victors in their Round 4 clash.
Sunshine Coast Wave put a stunning nine goals past Galaxy FC in their 9-1 Round 3 victory.
Down 1-0 at the break, Galaxy FC scored an impressive seven goals in the second half to secure a 7-3 victory against Ipswich Futsal.
WEEK 3
A Corey Sewell double helped Sunshine Coast Wave to their third straight win with a 3-1 win against Ipswich Futsal in Round 5 of the SEQ FPL.
An Adam Stacey brace led Lions FC to a 4-2 defeat of Galaxy FC in their Round 5 clash.
Following a Round 5 loss to Wave, Ipswich Futsal turned their form around to record a 3-0 win over Galaxy FC in Round 6 of the SEQ FPL.
Sunshine Coast Wave remain unbeaten in five matches after recording a 4-1 victory against EliteFoot to extend their winning streak to four games.
WEEK 4
Ladder leaders Sunshine Coast Wave extended their unbeaten run to six matches with a 4-2 defeat of Lions FC in Round 7 of the SEQ FPL.
Following three consecutive losses, doubles to Hugo Labaredas, Daniello Romano and Alessandro Reis helped EliteFoot to a strong 8-1 win against Ipswich Futsal in Round 7 of the SEQ FPL.
Sunshine Coast Wave’s Corey Sewell scored an impressive five goals to help Sunshine Coast Wave to a dominant 13-2 win over Galaxy FC. Wave now remain undefeated in all seven matches this season.
EliteFoot recorded their second straight win and their third of the season with a 4-2 defeat of Lions FC in Round 8 of the SEQ FPL.
WEEK 5
Lions FC and Ipswich Futsal shared the points after playing out an eight-goal thriller featuring eight different goal scorers.
An own goal from the league’s top goal scorer Hugo Labaredas gifted Galaxy FC their first win since Round 4 of the competition.
Sunshine Coast Wave capped off their regular season campaign with a comfortable 5-2 win over Ipswich Futsal.
A 3-1 defeat at the hands of Lions FC means Galaxy FC will meet Premiers Sunshine Coast Wave in the Semi Finals.
Semi-Finals
All-square after 40 minutes, extra time was needed to separate Lions FC and Brisbane EliteFoot in the Semi Finals. It was EliteFoot who found two more goals to book a place in the Grand Final.
Despite Galaxy FC leading at half time, Sunshine Coast Wave fought back in the second half. With the scores still level after extra time, Wave won the decisive penalty shootout to avoid an upset.
Grand Final
Sunshine Coast Wave vs. Brisbane EliteFoot
Brisbane EliteFoot produced an upset victory to stun Premiers Sunshine Coast Wave in the 2019 Grand Final. Elitefoot built on their 4-1 half-time lead, with David Felipe scoring four in their 8-3 Championship triumph.
