Sunshine Coast Football are recognising and highlighting volunteers from the region every month. All award winners will be published right here as they are announced and recognised through Sunshine Coast Football’s social media channels.

January
Winner: Leigh Phillips
Leigh works tirelessly behind the scenes at the club often missing his own sons games to be present at the club making coffees and being the ground official. He’s always at the club and can be found mowing and marking the fields every weekend.
February
Winner: Jacob Hernandez
In addition to being President, Jacob also coaches four teams at the club. He’s dedicated a huge amount of time to ensure the club continues to go from strength to strength.
March
Winner: Aaron Emery
Aaron is a fabulous volunteer, coach and groundsman at Coolum Football Club who spent many hours making sure the club fields look fantastic ahead of the 2021 season.
April
Winner: Brigitte DeCourcey
Brigitte has been volunteering with the Buderim Wanderers since the 80’s. She raised her children whilst working in the canteen, beat a life threatening disease and remains a committee member to this day. She is extremely dedicated and committed to the club who absolutely cherish her.
May
Winner: Amanda Milburn
Amanda is a huge asset to the club who goes above and beyond her role as secretary. Although she’s a busy teacher, Amanda manages the committee and works tirelessly to support coaches, manages and players from MiniRoos through to Seniors.
June
Winner: Adam Shelly
Adam is constantly working hard at the club whilst juggling his full-time job. In addition to being Club President, Adam is always up early on Saturdays setting up the fields and running the canteen and bar.
July
Winner: Joel Albion & Troy Johnson
Both Troy & Joel consider the club to be a second home and have put in countless hours growing and supporting the next generation of players. As the current club President, Troy is always the first one to arrive on Saturdays and last to leave after games. Joel generates partnerships with local businesses to support the club and proudly coaches both the Premier Women and U16 girls team.
August
Winner: Bianca Gordon
Bianca is a fabulous committee member who organises all club events, rounds up and manages our volunteers. You will also often find her with tools in her hands whether its cleaning changing rooms, clearing roof gutters, or tidying the gardens…she’s truly amazing!
September
Winner: Nicole Halloran
Despite not having any children playing for the club, Nicole has taken on the role as the facilitator between the club and the school. She spends many hours organising training, teams and coaches in addition to driving the fundraising efforts to ensure the club can pay for quality coaching and equipment. Without her efforts, many kids would not have the opportunity to play football with their school friends at club level.
October
Winner: John Gillies
John is passionate about football which is evident in how he runs the Flinders Football Club. He works incredibly hard to provide support across all areas of the club and is always available to assist. His ongoing contributions are greatly appreciated!
