The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup is here!
It’s time to cheer on our Westfield Matildas and show our support during their campaign to bring the Women’s World Cup home for the first time ever.
Football Queensland (FQ) and Football Federation Australia (FFA) are excited to announce some World Cup-themed events and competitions in the lead up to and during the tournament.

Yeh The Girls Gala Events
FQ will be hosting Yeh The Girls Gala events across the state, giving women and girls (12+) the opportunity to come and try football in a fun and inclusive environment.
Even if you haven’t tried football before, you’re invited! All abilities and skill levels are welcome.
Grab your daughter, niece, sister and friends to join the fun and give football a go in celebration of the Women’s World Cup!

Win a Visit from a Matilda
Win a visit to your club or school!
For the chance to win a visit from a Westfield Matildas player to your club or school, it’s time to show off how much you’re getting behind the Westfield Matildas by decorating your classroom, clubhouse and anywhere else you can think of in green and gold.
Once you’ve finished adding some green and gold flavour to your club or school, upload your pictures or videos to social media using both of these hashtags:

Green & Gold Weekend (June 8th – 9th)
Win a message from a Matilda!
The Westfield Matildas begin their FIFA Women’s World Cup™ campaign this weekend in France. The Socceroos take on Korea Republic in Busan, South Korea AND the Pararoos will announce their squad to head to their own World Cup in Spain.
How can you show your support?
Show our national teams you’re behind them by wearing as much green and gold attire as you can during the weekend of June 8th – June 9th.
Green & gold headbands, zinc, shoelaces, ribbons and socks are all great ways to show your support.
By participating, you can go in the running to win a personalised message from a Matilda thanking you for your support.
Get your teammates together, take a picture of yourselves in as much green and gold as you can muster and submit your entry on the Matildas website.
