The fight to represent Queensland in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 comes to a thrilling close this weekend, as eight clubs face off in Round 7 of the Queensland Preliminary Rounds.
With one game on Friday night followed by three on a monster Saturday, get up to date on all the teams set to play knockout football.
METRO
Brisbane’s two qualification spots will be decided by inter-league matchups, with both games live streamed on Football Brisbane’s Facebook page.
Brisbane Olympic and Moreton Bay United go head to head on Friday night, an encounter that may well be repeated in the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Finals Series if current form continues.
The two sides met in the league back in mid-April, with the match ending in a 2-2 stalemate. The spoils were shared on that occasion, but only one team will leave Goodwin Park with their FFA Cup hopes still alive.
The second Metro match features Flight Centre Premier League sides Grange Thistle and Peninsula Power.
There is a sense of deja vu surrounding this fixture, as the two teams met in the league last Saturday night.
Grange came away from that encounter with a 3-2 win, a result Power will be desperate to avenge when they again take the field at Lanham Park.

NORTHERN REGIONAL
Saturday night sees two future league-mates square off in Cairns, as FNQ Heat host Magpies FC at Endeavour Park.
Magpies FC will form one half of Mackay & Whitsundays Magpies Crusaders United, the expansion team that will enter the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland in 2018.
That breakthrough could lead to great things for Mackay football, but all thoughts of the future will be put on hold until after this crunch match.

Heat roll into the match in superb form after dispatching regional rivals Northern Fury 6-0 last weekend. The Cairns-based side sit 4th on the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland ladder and qualification for the Round of 32 would further build on that momentum.

SOUTHERN REGIONAL
The Southern Regional spot will be decided by a coast-vs-coast duel, as Caloundra FC travel down from the Sunshine Coast to visit Gold Coast City at Duncan McKenna Field.
Gold Coast are flying in the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland this season, sitting top of the table after only one loss in 13 rounds. City were tested against Brisbane City last weekend, but came storming back to record a 3-2 win and maintain their spot in 1st place.
Caloundra haven’t set the McDonald’s Premier Men alight in 2017, and are currently 14 points adrift of top spot. Knockout football can throw league form out the window and Caloundra will certainly be hoping that is the case on Saturday night.
