Football Queensland has been working closely with clubs to ensure as many games as possible can proceed this weekend.
Despite improved weather in recent days, many fields are still recovering from the impacts of wet weather. The construction of field substrates differ significantly, as do their ability to drain, and consequently many fields remain unplayable due to the significant level of water remaining in the water table under the surface.
Participants are reminded of the many factors considered by clubs when determining whether the postponement of fixtures is necessary including closure directives from local councils, damage mitigation and the ongoing inability to mow, line mark and prepare fields for safe play.
