Football Queensland is excited to unveil the Queensland Premier League (QPL), ushering in a bold new era for the state’s advanced football pyramid as our game embarks on an important period of transformation.
Representing the next evolution of football in Queensland, the QPL brand will unite the football community behind a modern, dynamic and future-focused vision for the game, brought to life through a transition of the state’s premier competitions and advanced leagues in every region. Reflecting the intersection of the local and global game, the development of the new QPL brand followed months of research, exploration and experimentation based on one goal:
To build the entire advanced football pyramid in Queensland under a high-energy identity system that brings the state’s football dynamism, rhythm and movement to life in an ever-evolving modern world, anchored in a unifying recognisable form that reflects the shared local identity of Queensland.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for football in Queensland as we prepare to enter a new strategic planning period from 2027 as we reposition our game to capitalise on the unique opportunities that lie ahead,” Football Queensland CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“The new QPL brand embodies what makes our statewide advanced competitions inherently ‘Queensland’, and reimagines it for the modern, global landscape, representing the beginning of an exciting new chapter for football in Queensland.
“As we continue to innovate and drive the game forward, the launch of the QPL will pave the way for a bright and strong future for football in every part of the state by uniting our football community behind a transformative vision for our game.”
The foundational elements of the QPL logo consider shape, movement and heritage, and draw on iconic geometric shapes to form the centrepiece, stylised Q. The brand system has been uniquely designed to provide ultimate flexibility to clubs, who will be able to integrate their distinct club colours within the QPL logo displayed on their playing kits.
The new, statewide QPL brand will come into effect from 2027.
