social football for women & girls
Girls United Social Football is all about creating fun, social football environments for women and girls to boost their confidence, build fitness and make friends.
Formats are flexible, including programs to develop skills, as well as social competitions and carnivals. Women and girls of all skill and experience levels are encouraged to attend, with sessions focusing on fun and enjoyment.
A great option for women who haven’t got the time to commit to the traditional training and game format of club football, or for those who want to build their skills and confidence before moving into a club football team.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact us at womenandgirls@footballqueensland.com.au
What is Girls United?
Girls United social sessions provide women and girls with a soft entry to football through weekly sessions focused on fun football games that teach basic skills. Social sessions provide an alternative option for women to start their football journey before progressing to competitive football.
Leagues
Girls United Leagues offer women and girls a flexible, low-time commitment way to play football through a modified, social competition format. Hosted at centralised venues and clubs throughout Queensland, the leagues are ideal for those who are new to football, returning after time away or simply looking for a fun, welcoming, all-female environment focused on enjoyment and connection.
Schools
Hosted at schools statewide, Girls United Schools is an entry-level program for girls involving a series of 4 gamified skill sessions that aim to teach football skills in a fun and engaging way.
School Staff: If you would like to host a program at your school, please complete the following expression of interest form: Expression of Interest Form – Girls United Schools
Carnivals
Girls United Carnivals are a vibrant celebration of female football, bringing players together for fun, fast-paced action in a welcoming environment. Whether your register as a team or individually, participants can enjoy one- or multi-day carnivals featuring modified format football.
End-of-season celebration carnivals are held annually throughout October and November in Brisbane, Townsville, Gladstone and Hervey Bay, alongside a range of junior girls carnivals deliveredacross the season.
