FQ Academy Trials
Football Queensland has confirmed player identification session dates for Under 9 to Under 16 players interested in joining the 2026 FQ Academy program.
The FQ Academy delivers a more consistent and visible pathway for aspirational footballers which is quality-controlled and accredited by Football Australia.
The program aligns the Queensland player pathway with the national development and Talent ID system, linking junior players to the Matildas and Socceroos.
With trials currently closed in each region, players interested in joining an FQ Academy program can fill out the below form to register an expression of interest.
Far North & Gulf
2026 Trial Dates
- Junior Players (born 2014 – 2017 Boys, 2013 – 2017 Girls)
- Monday and Wednesday afternoons at Maccas Park, 4.30pm – 5.45pm. Sept 1st, 3rd, 8th, 10th, 15th & 17th.
- Youth Boys (born 2010 – 2014)
- Youth (boys U13 up) – Monday and Wednesday evenings at Maccas Park, 6.00pm – 7.30pm. Sept 1st, 3rd, 8th, 10th, 15th & 17th
- Youth Girls (born 2010 – 2012)
- Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Maccas Park, 6.00pm – 7.30pm. Sept 2nd, 4th, 9th, 11th, 16th & 18th
Football Queensland is now seeking expressions of interest from players for our FQ Academy Far North & Gulf program in 2026.
The FQ Academy, Tier 1 Advanced Centre, is a training and match program for players U9 to U16, that operates at Maccas Park (formerly Endeavour Park), in Cairns. Training sessions are 2 x nights per week, with carnivals and match events held regularly, either during the school holidays or on weekends.
Trials for the program will commence on Monday, September 1st at Maccas Park: Juniors 4.30pm – 5.45pm and Youth 6.00pm – 7.30pm.
For players to whom an offer of a position is made, the training program will commence in early November and run until the end of the school year. Training recommences at the start of Term 1 in 2026 and will continue for the three school terms until the end of August 2026.
FQ Academy Northern provides a high-performance development pathway, aligning with Tier 1 club criteria in South-East Queensland. Players represent their region at carnivals and events while continuing to play for their local clubs.
