Baringa Football Club has been named the July Club Changer Club of the Month, recognised for its commitment to infrastructure development, strategic planning and community partnerships that are helping support the club’s rapid growth both on and off the field.

As one of the fastest-growing football clubs on the Sunshine Coast, Baringa FC has focused on building a strong and sustainable foundation to support its expanding membership. While continued growth in participation has been a key success story, the club has placed equal emphasis on strengthening its governance, developing club systems, investing in volunteers and creating clear pathways for players of all ages and abilities.

Central to this success has been Baringa FC’s commitment to building strong strategic partnerships throughout the Aura community. The club has worked closely with Football Queensland, Sunshine Coast Council, local schools, community organisations and local businesses to ensure facilities, resources and opportunities continue to grow alongside membership demand.

Recognising that strong clubs require more than just quality facilities, Baringa has also invested in coach education, volunteer development and improved operational processes. These initiatives have helped create a positive environment where players can progress from MiniRoos through to senior football while enjoying a consistent and high-quality football experience.

The Club Changer program has played an important role in supporting the club’s journey. By providing a framework for continuous improvement, the program has encouraged Baringa FC to look beyond day-to-day operations and focus on long-term sustainability and strategic planning.

Through its involvement in Club Changer, the club has strengthened governance structures, developed and reviewed key policies, identified priorities for future infrastructure investment and enhanced its planning for sustainable growth. The program has also strengthened the club’s credibility when engaging with funding bodies, sponsors and community stakeholders, helping create a clear roadmap for future development.

Club President Daniel White said the Club Changer program had been instrumental in helping Baringa FC strengthen its foundations and prepare for long-term success.

“The Club Changer program has given us a valuable framework to review how we operate as a club and identify opportunities to improve,” White said.

“It encouraged us to look beyond football and focus on strengthening our governance, strategic planning and long-term sustainability. Through the program we’ve developed stronger policies, identified priorities for future infrastructure investment, improved our planning for sustainable growth and strengthened our credibility when engaging with funding partners and sponsors.

“Club Changer has reinforced that strong clubs are built on good people, good planning and strong community partnerships.”

White encouraged other clubs to begin their own Club Changer journey, saying the benefits extend well beyond achieving accreditation.

“My advice is simple, start now,” he said.

“Club Changer isn’t just about achieving accreditation. It’s about building a stronger club for the future. The process encourages clubs to look at every aspect of how they operate and provides practical steps to improve along the way.

“Even small changes can have a big impact. The program helps clubs become better organised, more sustainable and better prepared for future growth. It also gives volunteers confidence that the time they’re investing is helping create a club that will continue to thrive for years to come.”

Looking ahead, Baringa FC has clear goals for the 2026 season. On the field, the club is focused on delivering quality football experiences for every player, continuing to strengthen its junior development pathway, supporting coach education and remaining competitive across all age groups and senior teams.

Off the field, the club will continue to focus on sustainable growth by strengthening its volunteer network, enhancing the match-day experience for members and visitors, expanding community and commercial partnerships, improving facilities and infrastructure, and maintaining strong governance practices through Club Changer.

At its heart, Baringa FC prides itself on being much more than a football club.
