Football Queensland (FQ) has been announced as a finalist for this year’s Multicultural Queensland Awards, nominated for the Minister’s Choice Award for outstanding engagement.

The Multicultural Queensland Awards recognise the contributions of Queenslanders who promote an inclusive and harmonious Queensland community.

FQ was nominated for its engagement in the Ambassador Program, through the collaborative and inclusive approach taken in ‘come and try’ sport events including this year’s Harmony Day event.

The event held in Kingston involved low socio-economic and high migrant populations and was organised in collaboration with fellow Ambassadors AFL Queensland, Surf Life Saving Queensland, Tennis Queensland and Queensland Cricket, as well as Cultural Advisor organisation Access.

FQ has been nominated in the category alongside AFL Queensland, Mater Misericordiae Ltd and Suncorp Group Ltd.
