Round 7 and Round 8 of the Men’s South East Queensland Futsal Premier League (SEQ FPL) will be held this Saturday, 9 November at the State Netball Centre in Brisbane.
Four matches will be played across the two rounds with all matches available to watch live and on demand on the Football Queensland (FQ) Facebook and YouTube.
ROUND 7:
Sunshine Coast Wave v Lions FC – 1:30pm
Currently sitting in first place on 13 points, Sunshine Coast Wave have yet to lose a game this season. Last weekend, they triumphed over both Ipswich Futsal and EliteFoot in a 3-1 and 4-1 win respectively. The team will have to pull out all the stops if they want to further cement their lead on the ladder.
Meanwhile, Lions FC currently sit in second place, just three points behind Sunshine Coast Wave. The last time the two teams faced each other, the game ended in a 3-3 draw so both teams will be looking to showcase their form this weekend as the top two sides clash.
EliteFoot v Ipswich Futsal – 4:00pm
EliteFoot currently sit in fourth place on the ladder and will be looking to edge closer to the top this weekend. The team’s only win this season came in Round 2 when they last faced Ipswich Futsal and they showcased their skills with a dominating 8-3 win.
Ipswich Futsal sit in fifth place on the table, on the same points as EliteFoot but currently hold the lowest goal difference. Similarly to their upcoming opponents, Ipswich Futsal have only won one game so far in the 2019 season, in Round 6, against Galaxy FC with a 3-0 win.
Since Ipswich Futsal have the bye for Round 8, the team will look to give it their all against EliteFoot this weekend.
ROUND 8:
Galaxy FC v Sunshine Coast Wave – 9:45am
Third-placed Galaxy FC have had mixed results throughout the 2019 SEQ FPL season. The team recorded wins against EliteFoot in Round 1 and Ipswich Futsal in Round 3 but their form slipped recently as they lost both matches last weekend against Lions FC and Ipswich Futsal.
The last time the team took on Sunshine Coast Wave, the match ended in a dominant 9-1 win for their opponents.
EliteFoot v Lions FC – 6:30pm
Both EliteFoot and Lions FC are set to play two matches this weekend so endurance will be imperative in this clash.
