Some will be chasing their first points of the season, while others will look to continue their Round 1 form against this weekend’s opponents.
All FQPL First Grade matches this weekend will be available to watch live and on demand on the FQ YouTube channel.
Feature Match: Western Pride v Mitchelton
Western Pride and Mitchelton FC will meet for the first time in the FQPL in our Round 2 Feature Match, live streamed on the FQ Facebook page this Saturday evening.
New to the league in 2020, Pride opened their FQPL campaign with a 2-1 win against Sunshine Coast FC last week thanks to a Yuta Hirayama double against their former NPL Men’s opponents.
Mitchelton meanwhile will get their season started this weekend after a bye in Round 1.
The side will be an interesting one to watch after the departure of key players Carter Glockner and Emryn Donnelly-Fagan to Moreton Bay United.
The addition of experienced defender Luke Leggett, who helped former club Eastern Suburbs to promotion for the 2018 season, should be a boost for a Mitchelton side that also boasts former Pride striker Mustafa Jafari for the 2020 season.
Jafari will come up against his former side this weekend as Pride set out to record back-to-back wins in the opening rounds of the FQPL.
After featuring in the Round 1 Team of the Week, Western Pride duo Nielen Brown and Jacob Advaney will can make an impact again this weekend in their side’s Round 2 clash.
