Queensland referees are set to have exceptional education at their fingertips with Football Queensland (FQ) today launching an e-learning platform for match officials.
Available on the fqreferees.com.au website, the online platform bridges the geographical gap by opening up more learning modules and materials for referees across the state.
Referee reaccreditation courses initially sit at the core of the new offering with further resources to follow over the coming weeks and months.
“The e-learning platform will add great depth to the coaching and analysis videos previously uploaded to the Football Queensland Referee Website,” FQ State Referee Manager Jacqui Hurford said.
“Reaccreditation courses from Level 4 to Level 1 are already available, meaning referees can meet the yearly requirements of their accreditation with ease through this new platform.
“We are excited to develop and add more courses, resources and materials to turn this space into a true e-learning hub for both less experienced and senior match officials.
“Initiatives like this demonstrate FQ’s dedication to improving referee development opportunities and help keep us on track to reach our participation goals.”
In the 2020-2022 Strategic Plan, FQ outlined its ambition to have 2,200 registered referees by 2022.
