The FQ Academy State Carnival will return to the South Pine Sports Complex in Moreton Bay this year from Wednesday, 3 April to Saturday, 6 April.
The upcoming state carnival is Queensland’s largest football talent event and will be delivered in partnership with City of Moreton Bay for the second year running.
The four-day carnival will welcome Under 13 to Under 16 boys and Under 14 to Under 17 girls from Metro Academy League clubs and statewide regional FQ Academy programs.
“The FQ Academy State Carnival in April is the first major Queensland football carnival of 2024, with more talent ID carnivals and events planned throughout the year to better connect our promising junior metro and regional talent,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“The carnival is an extremely valuable opportunity for Queensland’s most promising young talent from every region to show off their skills in front of our talent identification coaches.
“After a huge year of football in 2023, the first step for our future Queensland and Australian stars is through our FQ Academy, and this carnival is pivotal in recognising promising individuals from across the state.”
“It’s a pleasure to host the highly anticipated 2024 Football Queensland Academy State Carnival in the City of Moreton Bay,” said Mayor Peter Flannery.
“I’m delighted to welcome participants, spectators and supporters from across the state to our wonderful city and encourage everyone visiting for the carnival to immerse themselves in the beauty of Moreton Bay.”
The FQ Academy is the only advanced player pathway for state and national selection in Queensland recognised by Football Australia, and the FQ Academy State Carnival will give access to talent identification coaches to verify and scout Queensland’s best junior players for potential call-ups to national talent ID camps.
