Football Queensland (FQ) is thrilled to announce that five clubs, including three regional clubs from the Far North & Gulf and Northern regions, have been successfully screened to undertake the FQ Academy Tier 2 Club Development Assessment, further demonstrating FQ’s commitment to improving technical outcomes in the regions.
Northern region clubs Brothers Townsville and MA Olympic, along with Far North & Gulf region club Southside Comets were all successful in the club assessment process. Similarly, Metro region club Springfield United and Sunshine Coast region club Noosa Lions join the Tier 2 assessment framework in South East Queensland.
Two additional regional clubs, Riverway JCU and Edge Hill United, have also been conditionally approved to undertake the Tier 2 Club Development Assessment to support the continuous improvement of their clubs’ technical and developmental capabilities.
“We are excited as more clubs, especially regional clubs, are entering Football Queensland’s FQ Academy club assessment process at the Tier 2 entry stage, highlighting FQ’s technical strategy in action as an increasing number of clubs across the state are dedicated to elevating the standard of technical development of both players and coaches,” FQ General Manager – Football & State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer said.
“As five regional clubs potentially join the club development process, this is a strong indicator of the increased statewide progression opportunities available and the appetite of clubs to work with Football Queensland to advance the standard of football and coaching expertise across the entire state.
“The FQ Academy assessment process is designed to measure a club’s technical performance from a planning, delivery and outcomes perspective, while it strengthens its accountability, transparency, and visibility across all areas to foster high-quality development and facilitate accessible tier progression.
“Clubs can currently aim to attain the ‘FQ Development Committed’ badge and will have the opportunity to work towards a Tier 1 rating in the coming years that provides a Bronze, Silver or Gold rating to the best technical development clubs.
“Football Queensland’s commitment to enhancing quality assurance across all clubs and regions, combined with the increasing engagement of clubs in the development assessment process, is pivotal in driving FQ’s strategic objectives aimed at fostering broader development of the game statewide.”
Launched in 2020, the Club Development Assessment process serves as Football Queensland’s benchmark evaluation system towards continuous improvement, aimed at guiding clubs in enhancing their commitment to technical growth.
The club development process also supports coaches and players through licensed courses, workshops and webinars, while the players have the opportunity to be part of the FQ Academy regional and state team programs.
