Football Queensland is pleased to announce a number of upcoming energy saving opportunities for clubs across the state.
The Federal Government Energy Efficient Communities Programme will soon offer grants of up to $12,500 for clubs that have been considering an Energy Efficient Project.
FQ encourages clubs interested in Energy Efficient Projects, such as installing solar panels and hot water, to make contact with their Federal Member and undertake initial planning such as sourcing quotes and communicating with their local Council to see if any approvals are required.
Eligible community organisations will be able to apply for grants from October 2019 to fund energy generation and storage projects.
Eligible businesses and applications for grants to fund other equipment upgrades and energy audits will open in early 2020.
Grants are available on a first come first served basis.

Additionally, FQ would like to make clubs aware of an opportunity to have a free review of their club’s waste, water and electricity usage through a State Government funded program called ecoBIZ.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland’s ecoBiz is a free program funded by the Queensland Government that helps not for profits and businesses save money across their energy, water and waste bills.
Through this program, ecoBIZ helps community organisations and businesses understand energy, water and waste costs and can teach clubs how to save money through sustainability initiatives.
ecoBIZ coaches’ advice can help clubs develop and implement an action plan to help save money and increase efficiencies. ecoBIZ also gives the necessary support to help clubs and businesses track their usage across energy, water and waste.
