The Australia Cup is a national knockout competition administered by Football Australia in conjunction with State and Territory Member Federations.
The competition provides clubs from the grassroots to the National Premier Leagues (NPL), with the opportunity to compete against teams from other Member Federations to earn a spot on the national stage if they progress to the Round of 32.
The Australia Cup begins with the locally-based Preliminary Rounds, before the 12 A-League teams join the competition from the Round of 32.
In 2022, Queensland has been allocated four spots in the the Australia Cup Round of 32 within two qualification regions:
- South East Queensland (including Sunshine Coast, Darling Downs, Metro (North & South) and South Coast)
- Central & Northern Queensland (including Wide Bay, Central, Whitsunday Coast, Northern, Far North & Gulf)
The South East Queensland qualification region will compete for three (3) qualification spots and the Central & Northern qualification regions will compete for one (1) spot.
