Hi everyone!
If you were affected by flooding in Queensland between January and July this year, researchers want to hear from you. An online research questionnaire is now open to improve community safety in future floods. This is your chance to have your story heard.
The questionnaire is part of the ‘Community experiences of the 2022 eastern Australia floods’ project with Natural Hazards Research Australia, Macquarie University, the University of Southern Queensland and QUT (Queensland University of Technology).
This is the second phase of the project, after researchers completed in-depth interviews with people affected by flooding earlier this year. Researchers had a great response rate and interviewed hundreds of people. Now this questionnaire is available that will hopefully reach even more people!
The questionnaire will take between 30–45 minutes to fill out and will help researchers, emergency management agencies and government departments understand what happened and how widespread or localised different flood experiences were. It will be open until the end of January 2023.
Every story counts, so make sure your voice is heard and share with others!
