FQ E-Series Round 8 Recap

May 1, 2020

With a number of pools set to finish their first stage of matches in just three rounds’ time, it’s now do or die for many in the First Group Stage of Football Queensland (FQ)’s E-Series competition.

The PS4 Juniors, PS4 Seniors and Xbox Seniors competitors have now completed their Round 8 matches, while the Xbox Juniors participants have until this Sunday to play their Round 8, 9 and 10 matches.

In Regional Pool A of the PS4 Juniors competition, players representing Bluebirds FC are currently occupying two of the top three spots on the table (1st and 3rd), while another two players representing the club remain in a battle for a top six spot, sitting in 5th and 6th after Round 8 of the First Group Stage.

In Regional Pool B meanwhile, two players representing Edge Hill United FC are currently in the top four after eight rounds of competition.

In the PS4 Seniors, Sunshine Coast players are performing well in SEQ Pool J, with three players currently in the top six, while two players representing Rochedale Rovers are currently occupying 2nd and 3rd spot on the table in the SEQ Pool H.

The Xbox Seniors ladders are starting to take shape with only three rounds remaining, as Townsville Brothers representatives sit in the top two of both Regional Pools. In SEQ Pool A, a player representing South Toowoomba has cemented their spot as the ladder leader after recording six wins from eight matches, and currently sit 11 points ahead of the player in second.

The First Group Stage of the Xbox Seniors competition will draw to a close next Sunday, 10 May, alongside the first few pools of other competitions.

Next Round Deadlines

Xbox Juniors participants are reminded that their round deadlines for the remainder of the First Group Stage have changed. Find out more and see updated deadlines here.

By this Sunday, 3 May, Xbox Juniors participants must have played their Round 8, 9 and 10 matches.

Xbox Seniors, PS4 Juniors and PS4 Seniors must play their Round 9 matches meanwhile by this Sunday, 3 May.

Removal of players from the FQ E-Series

A number of players across all four competitions have been removed from the FQ E-Series after failing to complete three consecutive matches or attempt to contact their opponent on three occasions.

This means that all players will now record a bye for upcoming fixtures when facing an opponent who has been removed from the competition. For this reason, all matches previously recorded as a 3-0 win due to a forfeit of a player who has been removed will now show as a bye instead to ensure consistency across the rounds. SportsTG has been updated accordingly.

Sending Video Clips

We want to share the action from the FQ E-Series, so we encourage players to record and provide short clips from their matches to Football Queensland which may be used to create highlight reels, goal packages, funny videos and more.

Videos can be sent to Football Queensland at marketing@footballqueensland.com.au, either sent directly through WeTransfer or shared links via OneDrive or DropBox.

Visit the FQ E-Series Hub to find fixtures and results.
