Talent Support Program (TSP) and Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) Program teams from across the state will head to Mackay this weekend for Football Queensland (FQ)’s Quad Series event on Saturday, 30 March and Sunday, 31 March.
FQ Quad Series supports the pathway to state team selection, providing opportunities for young players from areas north of the Wide Bay-Burnett region.
Teams from Far North Queensland, North Queensland, Central Queensland and Magpies Crusaders FC will compete, with boys and girls aged between eight and 16 participating in the Quad Series event.
The first of the FQ Quad Series will be held in two locations in Mackay, with TSP teams competing at Magpies Crusaders FC and SAP fixtures to be held at Mackay Junior Football.
The FQ Quad Series will act as the beginning of the pathway to selection for State Girls teams and State Country Boys teams.
While providing opportunities for young players in regional parts of Queensland, the FQ Quad Series is also a talent pathway for talented coaches and emerging referees from these areas.
FQ Quad Series events will also be held in Cairns, Townsville and Brisbane later this year.
